Hello and Goodbye Songs

Hello Songs

Hello, How Are You?

This is my hello song for my drop-in story times, preschool story times, pajama story times, and class visits. At preschool story time, it is often followed by If You'd Like to Read a Book.

Tune: Skip To My Lou

(Waving)
Hello, how are you?
Hello, how are you?
Hello, how are you?
How are you today?

(Point to self, then point to your neighbor)
I'm fine; I hope you are, too.
I'm fine; I hope you are, too.
I'm fine; I hope you are, too.
I hope you're fine today.

(Clapping)
I'm clapping my hands; you do it, too.
I'm clapping my hands; you do it, too.
I'm clapping my hands; you do it, too.
Clap your hands with me.

  1. Thanks for sharing these songs. I'm going to be using a few of them soon. I like to end my Story Times with "The More We are Together" with the children in a circle (almost) swinging arms. We've also been learning a few basic sign language signs like my, your, and friend so we sign those at the appropriate times.
