  1. Excellent suggestions! I feel like there aren't a lot of YA novels with a heavier main character, which is too bad because there are so many teens dealing with weight/physical appearance issues in some way. (I sure did.)

  2. Great selection. I loved Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes. Rae Carson also deals with body image issues in The Girl of Fire and Thorns, with a heavy protagonist (who is also awesome. Love that book.)

  10. @Playing by the book - My favorite from this list is probably The Melting of Maggie Bean because I have a soft spot for tween fiction for girls, but it's hard to choose because they're all great books!
