Baby/Toddler Lap Time, 10/14

Before story time even started, one of my books disappeared! I have to remember to stop leaving them on display, since this isn't the first time it's happened. It is the first time, though, that someone has actually taken the book and checked it out, which is what I think happened, since it basically vanished into thin air. That aside, though, this was a great session.

Opening Song: Hello, how are you?

Rhyme: This is Big, Big, Big (twice)

Rhyme: Dance Your Fingers (twice)

Book: Apples & Pumpkins by Anne Rockwell, illustrated by Lizzie Rockwell (1988)

Song: Mr. Pumpkin
I just Googled this song this morning, and didn't really sing it out loud until I got in the story time room. I got an unexpected laugh at the third line, though, and wondered immediately if it was creepy! But it did the job, and I will probably do it again with the same group in two weeks.

Song: Brown Squirrel
Babies love this song.

Book: Pumpkin Fever by Charnan Simon, illustrated by Jan Bryant-Hunt (2006)
This was my last-minute replacement for Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin, which is the book that mysteriously disappeared. It was not exactly what I wanted, but it worked in a pinch. And it's an excellent easy reader, by the way.

Song: Bumpin' Up And Down in My Little Red Wagon

Song: I'm a Little Teapot

Song: Head and Shoulders

Flannel Board Song: Five Little Pumpkins
This is my favorite flannel board of all time. I wish it was more versatile so I could use it all year round!

Song: One Little Finger

Song: Tommy Thumb

Song: Old MacDonald

Song: Chickadee

Goodbye Song: We Wave Goodbye Like This
